What’s on your Plate? A critical look at food practices in ECE classrooms! Within this workshop we will look at:

  • What does it mean to be healthy?
  • Looking at licensing and history of Canada Food Guide
  • Childcare policies and procedures of Snack and Meal times
  • Deconstructing educator beliefs and perspectives on healthy food
  • Connection to food practices and one’s identity
  • Implications: Are we hindering or cultivating equitable spaces that welcome all children and families

Presenter:Ilam Muralidharan
Ilam Muralidharan has been an Early Childhood Educator, working in the Tri-Cities for over thirteen years.  She recently completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Capilano University, where she was inspired to work towards creating more equitable spaces for all educators, children and families, especially educators and families of colour.”

The NSCR Community Room is located on the second floor of Capilano Mall next to NSCR’s office. The room is located down a hallway between NSCR’s office and the entrance to mall parking.
