The North Shore CCRR is putting on a one day Mini Conference dedicated to all educators and child care providers. Spend the day gaining fresh programming ideas and valuable self-care strategies. Come out and enjoy engaging sessions designed to inspire and support your work. Coffee, morning snacks and lunch will be provided!
PLEASE NOTE: You have two rooms to pick from, each room has two separate workshop presentations on different topics: one for the morning session and one for the afternoon. (Decide which room you like best and grab your ticket before it sells out!)

Room A
9:30am to noon Why Age Appropriate Risky Play is Vital to a Child’s Development with Belva Stone Workshop Description: Learn the importance of exposure to age appropriate risky play opportunities and how it connects to a child’s development. What is the difference between a risk and a hazard, what does ‘age-appropriate risk’ look like and what are the long lasting benefits of early exposure to such risks. Belva will walk through all of these and share science based information as well as real time experiences on the benefits of risky play.
1:00pm to 3:00pm From Burnout to Breakthrough: Self-Care for Educators with Daniella Gentile
Workshop Description: In this interactive and hands-on workshop, discover practical tools to prevent and recover from burnout by taking control of your wellness. Designed specifically for early childhood educators, this session will explore the transformative power of self-care, mindfulness, and intentional movement. Through guided practices in mindfulness, breathwork, and yoga, you will learn techniques to reduce stress, restore energy, and enhance your resilience. Walk away with actionable strategies to nurture your well-being, both in and out of the classroom, so you can continue to support the growth and development of the children you teach with renewed balance and vitality.

9:30am to noon Toddlers, The Ultimate Scientists with Margot Wright
Workshop Description: Toddlers have the amazing ability to repeat the same action and or activity over and over and over again… just like the Scientists testing their theories! And that is exactly what they are doing. Coming from the understanding that everyone is born born into this world using and relying on all their senses to make sense of their environment, we must provide them with the opportunities to to do just that! In this workshop we will take a closer look at observing your children, identifying interests and needs, understanding the developmental process, environmental set up, safety and needs, opportunities and flexibility, trouble shooting, sharing with families and reflection. Together, lets explore the wonderous world of our toddlers!
1:00pm to 3:00pm Puppets and Their Benefits with Children in The Early Years with Oana Nistor
Workshop Description: Children are more open to learning when they are having fun. A puppet offers endless opportunities and possibilities to introducing new concepts to children. During this workshop you are invited to join in on discovering the benefits of puppets in Early Years and make a fun and entertaining puppet of your own. You can expect to learn the Benefits of using puppets, connections to the ELF and connections between playing, learning and puppets.
