  • Using Children's Literature to Inspire Provocation
     21 October 2021
     6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:  Come join us as we explore some favourite children’s books and look at the possibilities connected to them in creating provocations. We will go beyond using books at circle time and find ways that stories can be used to promote creativity and hands-on exploration in curriculum development and project work.  We will also talk about how books can be used to enhance and extend children’s interests that have already been observed.  Come ready to explore, share and collaborate, and leave inspired with the many possibilities that books hold.

PRENSENTER-Tara Marrington:  Tara has been involved in the child care field for over 15 years, where she has worked with both preschool and school aged children and currently is a YMCA CCRR Consultant. While taking her ECE, Tara developed a deep appreciation for the Early Learning Framework and the concepts of emergent, inquiry-based programming. As her career advanced, she developed a passion for inclusive education that lead her to pursue an additional diploma in Classroom and Community Support at Douglas College.
