In this interactive workshop, explore the brain regions and bio-psycho-social factors that drive emotional development and regulation. Through hands-on activities, play scenarios, and real-world examples, you’ll practice practical strategies using play, creative expression, and responsive interactions to support children’s social and emotional well-being in ECE settings.
Please note that this is a 4-hour workshop.
Meal is provided between in session break.
About the presenter: Dr. Zahra (Aysun) Ofoghi is a neuroscientist, mental health researcher, and early childhood educator. She holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Calgary, completed postdoctoral training at Simon Fraser University, and is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in UBC’s Department of Psychiatry researching childhood OCD. Her background combines clinical psychology, brain research, and practical ECE experience.

The NSCR Community Room is located on the second floor of Capilano Mall next to NSCR’s office. The room is located down a hallway between NSCR’s office and the entrance to mall parking.
